Disney+ Launches $1.99 Subscriber Deal and New Perks

Disney+ Launches .99 Subscriber Deal and New Perks

It’s no secret that streaming services are becoming more and more expensive, and it’s reaching the point where some people are questioning whether ditching cable was worth it in the first place. Maintaining a subscription to all the streaming services can easily surpass the price of cable, especially if you’re someone who goes for the ad-free options. Disney+ is making things a bit easier with a limited-time offer – but of course, there’s a catch.

Between now and September 27, new and returning subscribers can get three months of the basic Disney+ tier, which includes ads, for $1.99 a month. That tier usually costs $7.99 a month, resulting in a savings of about $18. As previously reported, Disney+ is raising subscription prices across all tiers starting on October 17, so if you jump on the promo, your costs will shoot up to $9.99 a month after the discount ends. It seems that Disney+ is trying to lure a bunch of subscribers ahead of the price hike.

There’s also a bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu, and Max, available at $16.99 a month. This is another option that includes ads, and the price soars up to $29.99 a month for the ad-free option for all three services. All in all, anyone who is a lapsed subscriber to these services or checking them out for the first time can find quite a bit to like. For Disney+ specifically, there’s a wide range of Marvel and Star Wars content to catch up on. There’s also the well-received Percy Jackson TV series that has been renewed for a second season.

Disney+ has plenty of new perks available for subscribers, in case that $1.99 isn’t tempting enough.

Disney+ Is Also Offering a Ton of New Perks

Star Wars fans who grabbed Star Wars Outlaws can pick up an exclusive Nix cosmetic that attaches to the game’s fuzzy companion. It doesn’t offer any gameplay bonuses, but it’ll have Nix looking better than before. There’s also a bundle of 36 digital Marvel Comics available free of charge. These aren’t any value to collectors considering they aren’t physical, but anybody looking to learn more about their favorite characters like Spider-Man or Scarlet Witch will find a lot to like.

Subscribers can enter a sweepstakes for a cruise to the Bahamas that includes up to four people. This one requires a bit of luck as all subscribers get this same perk, but cruises can be very expensive, especially for a whole family, so getting one for free can’t be passed up, even if it’s unlikely.

Funko Pop fans get a big bonus as they get a 15% off coupon that can be used on Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars Funko products. There are plenty of options out there that fit these criteria, so the best option would be loading up your cart with some of your favorites and getting that blanket discount at the end. Subscribers can also grab early access to merch for Agatha All Along, the upcoming MCU show on Disney+. Early access begins on September 18, so anybody interested could browse the shop and grab anything cool before it becomes available to everyone.

Rounding out the available perks are free in-game emojis for Disney Emoji Blitz, 15% off Disney merchandise at Loungefly, and tickets to D23 Tune-In To Terror: A Hollywood Halloween presented by Disney+. This event is open to just Disney+ subscribers and it’s a bit pricey. Tickets begin at $179 and go up to $269.
