Daredevil Star Charlie Cox Wants an MCU Avengers Team-Up After Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again actor Charlie Cox can’t fully say which Marvel team he wants to join, but he dropped an exciting tease. Cox first appeared as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in 2015’s Daredevil, which debuted on Netflix and became the anchor of various grounded MCU series that included Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders, and was dubbed The Defenders Saga. Despite Daredevil being canceled in 2018, Cox’s Daredevil returned in a number of MCU projects before getting to lead his own show in 2025’s Daredevil: Born Again.

Cox attended FanExpo Chicago and took part in a panel hosted by Joe Deckelmeier of Screen Rant. During the panel, a fan asked Cox which MCU actors he would like to work with in the future. While he didn’t name any one actor or character by name, he hinted at a particular group he would like to work alongside. While this could be interpreted as The Guardians of the Galaxy or The Fantastic Four, it is more likely the premier superhero team of The MCU, The Avengers. Cox said:

I have to be so careful. Look, I can’t! I’m not going to say, there’s so many. There’s one particular group of people that I would like to be invited to play with… But we’ll get into that a little bit later.

Marvel Appears to Be Setting Up Daredevil as an Avenger

The original Daredevil series is one of the most acclaimed adaptations of any Marvel Comic, so Marvel Studios jumped at the chance to bring Cox back as Daredevil and properly fold that corner of the franchise into the larger MCU. The previous show was restricted from playing with the larger MCU due to the separation of Marvel Studios and Marvel Television at the time. While the television series on Netflix and ABC would reference the films, the movies paid no mind to the television series. Now there is no division, as it is all under Kevin Feige, and he seems to have big plans for Daredevil.

Marvel Studios has made Cox’s Matt Murdock and Daredevil persona a major player in the Multiverse Saga. He first appeared as Matt Murdock in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, with a guest appearance as Daredevil in 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. He recently appeared in the first episode of Echo. In addition to leading his Disney+ series with Daredevil: Born Again, he will return to voice the character in the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Cox has previously said he wants Daredevil to be an Avenger, and Marvel might make that happen.

Why Daredevil Has Earned His Spot as an Avenger

The Man Without Fear is officially a part of the MCU. But here’s why Daredevil should also get a spot on the Avengers.

The character was featured on the Disney California Adventure concept art for Avengers: Infinity Defense, fighting King Thanos alongside other heroes like The Hulk and Captain America. There is a good chance Cox’s Daredevil will be a significant part of Avengers: Doomsday and a possible recruit for the new roster of heroes. While Cox might not get to star alongside the original Avengers cast, fans wouldn’t mind seeing him share the screen with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, or Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi. Daredevil being part of The Avengers would show how far the character has gone since his Netflix series debuted.
