Disney’s Snow White Remake Trailer Shows Off 2025 Movie

After years of whistling while she worked making a new movie, Snow White is finally nearing her return to the big screen. Disney unveiled the first trailer for Snow White at D23 Friday, ahead of its March 21, 2025 release date.

The film was set to open in March of this year, but Disney pushed it back a year in light of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Underscoring its long journey to the screen, stars Rachel Zegler (Snow White) and the Evil Queen (Gal Gadot) were at D23 two years ago showing off the first footage from the movie.

Marc Web, known for directing the Amazing Spider-Man movies, is directing the feature, which has songs from The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen‘s Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The film comes almost 90 years after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which premiered in 1937 and became a cornerstone of the Disney empire. Multiple takes on the Brothers Grimm tale have made it to the screen, from Lily Colins’ Mirror, Mirror to Snow White and the Hunstman, starring Kristen Stewart.

It is one of several Disney live-action movies to open in the coming months. First up is Mufasa: The Lion King, which bows on Dec. 20. The live-action remake business has been a strong one for Disney, especially prior to the pandemic, when it was almost routine for films such as Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin to gross $1 billion. Its most recent, The Little Mermaid, brought in $569.6 million.
