Every Anime Series Releasing in September 2024

Every Anime Series Releasing in September 2024

Anime continues to expand its reach, becoming more popular than ever, with several notable franchises releasing this year. With its growing popularity, more manga and light novels have been adapted into new anime series, with some successful ones coming out this year, including Solo Leveling, Kaiju No. 8, and Wind Breaker.

While the year has certainly seen several incredible anime series that have kept us intrigued for months, the future seems promising for the fall of 2024, with many more highly anticipated anime shows due for release. Even though the following month will be sparse in terms of quantity, fans can look forward to one of the year’s biggest anime releases. With that in mind, here’s a list of every anime series coming out in September 2024.

Delico’s Nursery

Continuing From August

Delico’s Nursery is a fantasy anime series based on Kenichi Suemitsu’s popular stage play, Trump. From 2020 to 2023, the author also adapted the play into five tankobon volumes of manga, which was recently concluded. Just a year after the manga’s ending, an anime adaptation is on its way to Crunchyroll, the anime’s most popular streaming platform. Following the premiere of the first episode, the anime series garnered a positive response, with many viewing it as a breath of fresh air in the genre of vampire stories.

For those unaware, Delico’s Nursery, which is animated by J.C. Staff, is set in a fantastical world where vampire species have ruled for eons before losing their immortality. As vampires try to live like mortals in the modern world, they are targeted by Pendulum, an anti-social organization whose sole goal is to exterminate these creatures from the face of the Earth. Will the vampires find a way to preserve the last of their kind? Delico’s Nursery is currently airing weekly episodes, which will continue through September.

Rick and Morty: The Anime

Continuing From August

When fans of the popular animated series Rick and Morty learned that there would be an anime version of the show, their enthusiasm knew no bounds, making it one of the year’s most anticipated releases. Surprisingly, the debut episode of Rick and Morty: The Anime, which was released on Aug. 15, disappointed viewers with its inability to sustain cultural transition and inconsistent narrative pace.

However, we cannot judge an anime based only on the first few episodes. Ninja Kamui, which released one of the most incredible beginning episodes and fell substantially towards the end, is a prime example. Since Rick and Morty: The Anime will consist of ten episodes, fans can possibly expect something good to come from the series. Rick and Morty: The Anime airs every Friday on Adult Swim.

Uzumaki: Spiral Into Horror

Watch it on Adult Swim on Sep. 28

Junji Ito is widely regarded as one of the greatest horror mangaka of all time, having written numerous disturbing stories in his career, including Tomie, Gyo: Tokyo Fish Attack, and Uzumaki. Uzumaki, in particular, represents the pinnacle of manga horror, with countless meticulously crafted panels loaded with intricate foreshadowing. Certainly, it may not have the best story compared to some other series since the setting doesn’t really allow much room for growth, but the author compensates with an intriguing mystery, which adds a lot of value to the series.

Even though Adult Swim announced Uzumaki: Spiral Into Horror in 2019 and planned to broadcast in 2020, numerous delays have pushed the release date to 2024. Fortunately, despite the delays, Uzumaki will be an intriguing anime to watch, thanks to Production I.G., which has previously created series like Kaiju No. 8, Ghost in the Shell, and Haikyuu, animating the series, while Adult Swim oversees distribution and production.

The story of Uzumaki takes place in the small seaside town of Kurouzu-cho, which is believed to be the home of a curse that has been tormenting the locals for ages. Kirie Goshima and Shuichi Saito are two high school students who inadvertently confront a bizarre phenomenon revolving around spirals. What started as a small abnormality in a video scrapbook soon engulfs the entire town by producing otherworldly spirals that seem increasingly difficult to predict. Meanwhile, Tamura, a curious reporter who comes across a weird spiral case, is determined to solve it no matter the outcome. Will Kirie and Shuichi be able to solve this chain of horrifying occurrences before it destroys their entire hometown?

While the manga is finally getting its well-deserved anime adaptation, Spiral, a live-action feature film, was released two decades ago. The film alters many significant moments from the original plot and ends abruptly, omitting the final third of the source material. For this reason, even though Spiral is a great horror film in its own right, it disappointed many fans since it fell short compared to the original manga.

With the forthcoming anime, which is expected to be a visual spectacle, thanks to the brooding atmosphere that complements the manga, the horror genre could see another successful addition, following the few highly successful series such as Another, Higurashi: When They Cry, and Ghost Hunt. Uzumaki: Spiral Into Horror will premiere on Adult Swim on Sept. 28.

2.5 Dimensional Seduction

Continuing From July

Anime shows have long emphasized the Otaku Culture, often featuring main characters of the same nature who finally find love in real life. 2.5 Dimensional Seduction, also known as 2.5-jigen no Ririsa in Japanese, is an exciting harem anime series that has been running for a while. Despite its ambiguous title, it has been praised as a delightful anime that seamlessly blends romance, comedy, and cosplay.

The anime follows Masamune Okumura, a depressed second-year high school student who seeks comfort in the fictitious worlds of anime and manga following a disastrous confession to a girl he loves. Although he is now leading a quiet life as the president of the Manga Research Club, everything changes when Ririsa Amano, a passionate cosplayer, and Mikari Tachibana, his reunited childhood friend who is desperately in love with Masamune, enter his world. Perhaps Masamune will finally begin to believe in real-life relationships rather than idolizing virtual girls. 2.5 Dimensional Seduction will run throughout September as a 24-episode anime that airs weekly.
