Desperate to rid themselves of the curse, Park Ji-yong (Kim Jae-cheol), the patriarch of the family, entrusts the shaman to relocate the ancestor’s grave in an effort to appease his spirit. However, after enlisting her colleagues, a Feng shui master named Kim Sang-deok (Choi Min-sik) and a mortician named Yeong-geun (Yoo Hae-jin), everyone realizes their solution won’t be as simple as they initially thought.

A timely examination of mental illness that translates surprisingly well to modern times, The Devil’s Bath offers viewers a horrific and gloomy view of one woman’s path toward the rising evil thoughts that eventually consume her. Based on historical records but not specific events, the film captures the debilitating symptoms that arise from the boughs of depression that ultimately manifest as a disease.
