Every Western Coming to Tubi in September 2024

Tubi has been one of the most reliable streaming services since its inception in 2014, as evident by the fact that the streaming platform hosts 80 million monthly active users as of May 2024. Being an ad-supported platform that does not necessarily require a subscription may be the reason for its overwhelming user count, which, while not as large as Netflix and Prime Video, is nevertheless a respectable number.

The streaming service offers a variety of genres, ranging from horror to Westerns, which is one of the most popular genres on the platform. The Western genre, in particular, has been one of the most sought-after on Tubi, leading to the inclusion of new films each month. Speaking of which, here are some exciting Western films coming to Tubi in September 2024 that you might want to see.

A Fistful of Dollars (1964)

Streaming September 1

A Fistful of Dollars is a 1964 spaghetti Western directed by Sergio Leone (Once Upon a Time in the West) and starring Clint Eastwood (Unforgiven) in his debut leading role. The film formed the basis of the spaghetti Western genre and was supposedly made on a shoestring budget of $200,000.

In the movie, an unnamed wandering gunslinger with a lightning-fast right-hand steps into San Miguel, a town where two major families, the Baxters and the Rojos, have a long-standing enmity. Seeing an opportunity, the poncho-clad young man decides to play both gangs off each other and make some money, but will he be able to withstand the wrath of these families after pulling such a reckless stunt? A Fistful of Dollars will be added to Tubi on Sept. 1.

For a Few Dollars More (1965)

Streaming September 1

For a Few Dollars More, released in 1965, is another phenomenal Western from Sergio Leone (director) and Clint Eastwood (lead actor), following the success of A Fistful of Dollars in 1964, which forever changed the face of the Western genre. This film is the second in the Dollars Trilogy, which is subsequently followed by The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. It follows the same so-called “Man with No Name,” who rides into the town of Tucumcari 18 months after his historic duel.

This time, our unnamed bounty hunter has set his sights on El Indio (Gian Maria Volonte), a psychopathic bandit leader plotting to raid the impenetrable Bank of El Paso. When the situation grows dire, the Man with No Name teams up with Colone Douglas Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef), a skilled marksman with a hidden agenda. Will the nameless American survive the impending onslaught for a few more dollars? For a Few Dollars More will be released on Tubi on Sept. 1.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)

Streaming September 1

The Dollars Trilogy would be incomplete without The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, which is arguably the best of the three films. This September, Tubi will release the entire trilogy, with The Good, the Bad and the Ugly following on Sept.1. The film, released in 1966, is somewhat different from the other films in the trilogy in that it has three actors in the leading roles instead of one or two.

Clint Eastwood plays “the Good,” Lee Van Cleef portrays “the Bad,” and Eli Wallach takes on the role of “the Ugly.” With high expectations following the success of the previous two films, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was a box office success, grossing $38.9 million on a $1.2 million budget.

The plot takes place during the American Civil War when three different men face off in a shootout to find a $200,000 consignment of Confederate gold. The addition of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly to Tubi is a godsend for Western fans since it allows them to watch the entire trilogy uninterrupted. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is streaming on Sept. 1.

The Magnificent Seven (1960)

Streaming Sep. 1

The Magnificent Seven, as the title implies, tells the narrative of seven hired guns who range from outlaws to bounty hunters as they face off against Calvera, a vicious bandit who haunts the small Mexican farming village each year. After being harassed by Calvera, the residents frantically hope someone will save them.

When they send three of their men to find fighters who can stand up to Calvera, the men employ seven selfless gunmen, who, although agreeing to help them, seem to have their own reasons for accepting the mission. The film stars Steve McQueen, Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson, Eli Wallach, and many other prominent actors from the 1960s. The Magnificent Seven will be available to stream on Tubi on Sept. 1.
