Action icon and The Expendables star Dolph Lundgren has offered some details about his new show, Flip A Cöin, while speaking exclusively with MovieWeb. Of course, there aren’t all that many details to reveal in the first place, with Flip A Cöin simply centering on Lundgren flipping a coin…and taking it very seriously. Coming courtesy of Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Channel, Flip A Cöin sounds like the kind of show that television was made for, with Lundgren declaring that, yes, the concept is as simply brilliant as it sounds.

“It’s kind of a different little bizarre project. It’s huge in Sweden, it’s coming to America now. And it’s about me flipping a coin for 30 minutes each episode. And they basically thought, ‘It’s weird, but either it’s gonna be great, or nobody will get it.’ So, still not sure. I think it’s pretty well put together, and it’s funny. I guess a lot of people who bet on different things are going to use it for that.”

Narrated by Lundgren’s fellow Swedish actor, Watchmen and Couples Retreat star Malin Åkerman, Maximum Effort co-founder and the executive producer behind Flip A Cöin, George Dewey, has previously stated that the show is for those who love both Dolph Lundgren and Malin Åckerman, those who love everything Swedish, and those who like to place a wager.

“This show was crafted for people who love Dolph Lundgren and Malin Åckerman or people who love Swedish things or people who enjoy placing wagers, a gentleman’s or otherwise, as they watch television. We figured that pretty much covered everyone but to be honest, we never really focus grouped it.”

Flip A Cöin began on Wednesday, January 17th at 9:30 p.m. ET, and will consist of 12 episodes, each featuring the Rocky IV star flipping a coin while we all wonder if he will break us with the use of his deathly stare. You can check out the captivating trailer for Flip A Cöin below.

Dolph Lundgren Next Stars as an Aging Detective in Wanted Man

Wanted Man

Follows a police officer who must retrieve an eyewitness and escort her after a cartel shooting leaves several DEA agents dead. Dolph Lundgren stars.

Dolph Lundgren recently starred in the DC sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, likely playing King Nereus for the last time, with the actor also sharing his feelings towards the script changes, reshoots, and the behind the scenes drama that occurred amid co-star Amber Heard’s public court proceedings with her ex-husband Johnny Depp.

“But it’s hard to know what’s going to happen in the future, except I just thought they had a great script, and they had a great director and good cast [for the second film]. And I guess he got spooked with this Amber Heard situation and the fact that people weren’t gonna see the movie because she’s in it. I always thought that was overrated. I mean, I think when you make a movie, you got to stick to your guns a little bit… So I personally wish they stuck with the original because I thought it was quite good.”

Lundgren will next star in the action flick, Wanted Man. Hoping to save his job, an aging detective travels to Mexico to extradite a woman who witnessed the murders of two DEA agents. Once there, he realizes that bad hombres on both sides of the border are now gunning for him.

Directed by Dolph Lundgren, who also wrote the screenplay with Michael Worth, Wanted Man stars Lundgren the “aging detective” alongside Christina Villa, Kelsey Grammer, Michael Paré, Roger Cross, and Aaron McPherson.

Wanted Man is due to be released by Quiver Distribution in select theaters and on video on demand from January 19, 2024. You can check out the trailer below:
