Keanu Reeves‘ role in Aziz Ansari’s comedy film Good Fortune has been revealed in a little more detail at CinemaCon, along with details about the knee injury he sustained while filming the movie. As part of Lionsgate’s panel at the event, the delayed project that finally began filming earlier this year will see Reeves playing the role of an angel.

Keanu Reeves is set to star with Cameon Diaz in the Jonah Hill movie, Outcome, and has had a dramatic change in appearance for it.
Originally announced back in April 2023, Good Fortune was put on indefinite hold due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that impacted many filming schedules last year. Thanks to details coming out of CinemaCon, it has been revealed that Reeves will star as Gabriel, an angel who is fired from his job after granting a wish that goes awry.
However, things really went wrong for the actor, who has become known for performing his own stunts in the John Wick movies, when he managed to fracture his knee. This time, though, he was not leaping from a building, being chased by bad guys, or taking on a league of assassins – he tripped over a rug in his trailer.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Good Fortune director Ansari appeared as part of the Lionsgate panel to promote the upcoming movie and shared the story that led to leaked images showing Reeves walking on set with his injuries. He said:
“About 15 days into shooting with me, I said, ‘Go chill in your trailer.’ He tripped on a rug…Poor guy, he was such a trooper, and he fractured his kneecap and continued to do all the scenes.”
It seems that Reeves’ injury was not bad enough for him to go to hospital, and he continued filming like the “trooper” he is.
