Samsung makes some of the best phones out there, at least if you’re an Android user, so if you’re looking to get some of the best, that’s where to go. While the newest phone in Samsung’s lineup is the S24, that doesn’t mean that the S23 isn’t still great, especially the S23 Ultra. Luckily, the new release means we’re seeing some good deals, including on the budget-friendly Galaxy S23 FE, so now is the perfect opportunity to grab a flagship-level phone for a relatively good price, if not essentially for free.

This story is part of Samsung Event, CNET’s collection of news, tips and advice around Samsung’s most popular products.

In February of 2023, Samsung unveiled the current lineup which includes the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra. All three retain the same screen sizes as the 2022 models at 6.1, 6.6 and 6.8 inches, respectively, with a refined external design and some modest upgrades to the camera hardware, battery sizes and internal storage of the larger two models. A special version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor powers the new phones and is optimized for the new Galaxy S23 lineup, which we found in our tests to have much faster performance than the S22.

The new Galaxy S23 FE hit shelves later in October of 2023 and is the most affordable model in the S23 lineup. It has a midsize 6.4-inch display and improved battery life but comes equipped with the previous-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. While we don’t yet know what 2024 will bring us from the Samsung Galaxy line — the next Unpacked event will be Jan. 17, 2024 — we do know there are plenty of deals on their current offerings of upgraded Android phones.

As always, Samsung’s phones come in an array of attractive colors. This time, there’s a selection of nature-inspired colors for the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra, including phantom black, cream, green and lavender. Plus, Samsung is also offering four colors exclusive to its own online store lime, graphite, sky blue and red. The new Galaxy S23 FE is only available in graphite, mint and purple.

Best Galaxy S23 deals

While discounts on the main S23 lineup are slim at Amazon right now, you can get $37 off the already-affordable Galaxy S23 FE for the purple color, dropping it down as low as $563. You can also get the phone with a $50 set of Galaxy Buds FE for a total of $57 in savings.

Samsung isn’t currently offering any cold, hard discounts, but there are savings to be had if you know where to look. Right now, Samsung will knock up to $525 off the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus or off the S23 Ultra with an eligible trade-in. Newer Apple and Samsung devices will net you the most, but you’ll get enhanced credit for phones from Google, Motorola and other brands as well.

You can also get the S23 Ultra with a direct download, bringing it down to $1,055 from $1,380, which constitutes a solid $325 discount. You can also save up to $114 on Galaxy Watch6 if you go with either the S23 or the S23 Plus, which is a nice additional incentive.

You’ll also get some free services with any of the Galaxy S23 phones, including two free months of Adobe Lightroom, four months of YouTube Premium, four months of Sirius XM and six months of Microsoft 365 Basic (if you’re a new subscriber).

While there aren’t a lot of great deals on Best Buy, you can get $100 off the Samsung Galaxy S23 128GB version, which brings the price down to $700. There aren’t any deals for other sizes of the S23, the S23 Plus or the S23 Ultra.

Verizon is offering both new and existing customers a chance to save on Galaxy S23 phones. Those adding a new line can get either the S23 or S23 FE for free, with any money spent credited to your bill over 36 months. You can also get an Amazon Fire TV 65″ Omni Series for free for those who purchase with a new Unlimited Ultimate or Unlimited Plus plan.

Additionally, right now you can get up to $350 back in promotional credits when you add a Galaxy Watch6 to your purchase or up to $550 of promotional credits for a Samsung Tab S9 FE 5G.

For the Galaxy S23 with AT&T, get up to $730 in trade-in credit when you trade in an eligible device and choose an unlimited plan. Currently, AT&T does not have the S23 Plus or Ultra listed for sale. You can get the S23 FE for $11 a month with no trade-in required.

T-Mobile is offering new and existing customers quite a few ways to save on the S23 series right now. Those adding a new line of service can save up to $800 when signing up for a Go5G Next or Go5G Plus plan, or you can save $400 when adding a new line on a different qualifying service plan.

If you already have a Go5G Next or Plus plan (or switch to one), you can also save up to $1,000 with an eligible trade-in, which scores you the Galaxy S23 or S23 FE for free. Those on a regular Go5G plan can save up to $600 with a trade-in if you’re on another qualifying service plan.

Xfinity is offering up to $685 off the Galaxy S23 Series with either a new line or an eligible trade-in. And you can combine these offers for some serious savings. The latest iPhones will net you the biggest discount, but Xfinity also accepts models from Samsung and Google, as well as tons of smaller brands. Like most other carrier trade-in offers, the discount will be applied in the form of monthly bill credits. You can also choose to receive your money back in the form of a check, although it may reduce your discount a bit.

There is also a direct $100 discount on the Galaxy S23 128GB and 256GB versions, which brings them down to $700 and $750, respectively.

New Google Fi customers can save $100 on the Galaxy S23 as a direct discount. There are also trade-in credits of up to $500 for the S23 Plus, or $550 for the S23 Ultra with activation on a qualifying service plan. The discount is applied in the form of bill credits over 24 months.

Google also has its own trade-in program where you can save up to $550 in exchange for your old phone, with the latest iPhones netting you the biggest discount. It should also be noted that the new Galaxy S23 FE is not yet available on Google Fi.
