Sex Lives of College Girls Season 3 Will Return On Max in November

The Sex Lives of College Girls is set to return to Max almost two years after its second season debuted. The Sex Lives of College Girls is a comedy series created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble. It follows the lives of four 18-year-old freshman roommates in college, played by Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Alyah Chanelle Scott, and Mean Girls’ Reneé Rapp. The roommates form a strong friendship while navigating the struggles and hardships that come with adulthood, college, and their new sexually active lifestyles. The series debuted in 2021 and returned for a second season in 2022, which ended on a cliffhanger. Fans have now been waiting two years to finally see how it is resolved.

Teen Vogue has revealed new information about The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 3, including that it will debut on Max in November. The first two seasons of The Sex Lives of College Girls debuted on the third weekend of November, with Season 1 premiering on November 18, 2021, and Season 2 on November 17, 2022, which suggests Season 3 will debut sometime around then. Teen Vogue also had plenty of other details about the upcoming season, from the fact that this season will feature their first Halloween-themed episode to the fact that the episodes this season will be longer. Co-creator Justin Noble said:

“We have a bit longer episodes this year. They’re not an hour long, but they’re significantly longer than they’ve been in the past, which has always been my favorite Twitter criticism of the show … So we’ll be seeing some 33, 34-minute episodes as opposed to 23, 22.”

Major Changes Are Coming for the Girls

The Sex Lives of College Girls’ upcoming season will see a major change in the form of a cast shakeup as star Reneé Rapp will be departing the series. Rapp will still appear in the first few episodes of the season as they look to wrap up her character, Leighton, a popular rich girl who finally came out to her friends and family. Regarding the character of Leighton, Nobel told Teen Vogue: “[She] definitely still has some lessons and room to grow ahead of her. She’ll be faced with a couple of big choices and she’ll have to make a couple of big decisions in all aspects of her life.”

There will be new cast members joining The Sex Lives of College Girls, including a new transfer student played by Gracie Lawrence, who attends the school’s fictional Essex College to be with her boyfriend. In addition, Mia Rodgers will join the cast as Taylor, a queer British student who will be an incoming freshman who will be younger than the core group, likely to serve as a mentor role. The season will feature many recurring cast members like Devin Craig, Michael Provost, Roby Attal, and Bottoms star Ruby Cruz.

While the television landscape for September to October will likely be dominated by series like Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Only Murders in the Building, Agatha All Along, and The Penguin, the last part of the year is starting to take shape. The Sex Lives of College Girls and Dune: Prophecy will both debut in November on Max and play through December. Superman & Lois, What We Do in the Shadows, and Shrinking will all debut new seasons towards the end of October and run into November and early December. Meanwhile, December will see the debut of the first entry in James Gunn’s DCU, Creature Commandos, airing on Max, while Disney+ has the latest Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, set for the holiday season.
