The first look at Liam Hemsworth as the monster hunter Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher season 4 is expected to be revealed “rather soon,” according to Redanian Intelligence. As per their report, there is currently work now being done at Longcross Studios, with the preparation for Hemsworth to take over from Henry Cavill underway, including “screen tests and photoshoots with Liam Hemsworth in costume and wig.”

According to the report, “Netflix is planning to release a first look rather soon,” meaning fans of The Witcher will at last be able to judge how Hemsworth looks as the main character. Filming on season 4 is reportedly all set to begin in mid-April, which certainly tracks with the idea that we will soon get our first look.

As well as no doubt trying on hundreds of different wigs, Hemsworth has also reportedly been “training a lot, bulking up for his role” and is “looking quite big now.” Which he will need to if he wants to step into the bulked-up boots of Henry Cavill. “We also heard at one point that his Geralt will also have a stubble, not unlike Henry Cavill,” the report also reveals.

Henry Cavill made the shocking announcement that he would be leaving The Witcher, a property he is deeply passionate about, back in October 2022. In his statement, Cavill revealed that he would be passing the torch to Liam Hemsworth, who is best known for The Hunger Games series and Independence Day: Resurgence.

“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.”

Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure. Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”
