With one of the more interesting and memorable marketing campaigns for a Marvel Cinematic Universe project in quite some time, Agatha All Along is highly anticipated. Now that it’s gone through its series of fakeout title changes, cast members are starting to shed some light on what audiences can expect. And this includes Saturday Night Live veteran Sasheer Zamata, who sat down with ComicBook.com to discuss the Marvel show and revealed that the miniseries makes for another horror-themed Marvel project a la Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Werewolf by Night.

Opposed to the more comedic and action-packed WandaVision, Agatha All Along‘s direct predecessor, Zamata teased plenty of surprises to come in the Marvel horror series, calling it “quite scary and dramatic and violent.” Not that Agatha All Along will be entirely devoid of humor, as its cheeky marketing tactic has already proved.

“I, and I think the fans, will be surprised at how much horror is in the show. It really is quite scary and dramatic and violent and all the things. And also funny! But I think the range of what the show is going to do will be a shock for people.”

What Do We Know About Agatha All Along?

Agatha All Along was created by Jac Schaeffer, who also created the fan-favorite WandaVision, so fans should rest assured they’re in good hands. It follows the events of that aforementioned 2021 series, which concluded with Wanda Maximoff imprisoning Agatha Harkness in the missing town of Westview, New Jersey. But, just as Wanda was able to eventually escape her illusion, so too is Agatha, though not without the help of a goth teen (Joe Locke).

The teen wishes to face the trials of the Witches’ Road, with which Agatha is quite familiar. But, the latter now lacks her powers, so she and the teen assemble a new coven to take on the trials together. These witches include Zamata’s Jennifer Kale, Alice Wu-Gulliver (Ali Ahn), and the mysterious warrior witch Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza).

Agatha All Along

Starring Kathryn Hahn as the titular Marvel witch, Agatha All Along reveals how Scarlet Witch’s enemy broke Wanda Maximoff’s binding spell at the end of WandaVision. Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Emma Caulfield, and Ali Ahn join Hahn in the MCU Phase 5 spinoff series, released on Disney+.

Several cast members from WandaVision will also be reprising their roles. Specifically, the entranced “residents” of Westview Sarah Proctor (Emma Caulfield Ford), John Collins (David Payton), Harold Proctor (David Lengel), Abilash Tandon (Asif Ali), and Dennis the pizza delivery man (Amos Glick). Kate Forbes will also be returning as Evanora Harkness, Agatha’s mother, while Debra Jo Rupp will again star as Sharon Davis, who is now a fellow member of Agatha’s coven.
