Blumhouse’s Best Horror Movies Returning to Theaters for Halloween

Blumhouse’s Best Horror Movies Returning to Theaters for Halloween

Light the jack-o’-lanterns and put the kids to bed early, because Wednesdays are about to get a lot scarier this fall at AMC Theatres. As part of the theater chain’s “Thrills & Chills” series, Blumhouse proudly presents some of their best and most spine-tingling horror movies to celebrate the countdown to Halloween. BlumFest 2024 begins next week on September 25 with 15th anniversary screenings of the found-footage hit Paranormal Activity. In the weeks that follow through October, the schedule (below) also includes the studio’s biggest moneymaker, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and the Groundhog Day-inspired horror jaunt Happy Death Day.

AMC’s Thrills & Chills, BlumFest 2024 Horror Movie Lineup:

  • September 25: Paranormal Activity
  • October 2: Lights Out
  • October 9: Insidious: Chapter 2
  • October 16: Happy Death Day
  • October 23: The Black Phone
  • October 30: Five Nights at Freddy’s

Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to enjoy BlumFest 2024 at their local multiplex — a little traveling will be required. While 150 venues in 54 cities will host the “Thrills & Chills” event, not every AMC location will screen the spooky titles. For instance, the AMC Empire 25 in New York City will feature all six films, but the AMC Lincoln Square 13 will not.

The CEO of Blumhouse, Jason Blum, said of the chilling cinematic celebration (per Deadline): “This whole month is a love letter to Halloween and our fans, and we’re grateful to our partners at AMC for joining us for BlumFest, our annual October celebration of all things Blumhouse. I can’t believe we’re already celebrating the 15th anniversary of Paranormal Activity, because it feels like we’re just getting started.”

‘Halloween Season Makes Horror Movies Even More Fun’

As All Hallows’ Eve creeps ever closer, and AMC’s “Thrills & Chills” and BlumFest 2024 prepare to up the fear factor in October, another Blumhouse production is currently scoring at the box office. The reimagining of 2022’s Speak No Evil began its theatrical run last weekend, landing in the number-two spot at the box office with $11.4 million.

And, as previously mentioned, Five Nights at Freddy’s holds the honor of being the highest-grossing film worldwide for Blumhouse (per The Numbers), with $297.1 million. Executive Vice President and Chief Content & Programming Officer for AMC Entertainment Inc., Elizabeth Frank, is also quick to point out how much horror movie marathons like this mean to cinephiles during the month of October:

The Halloween season makes horror movies even more fun. We’re excited to bring the BlumFest celebration to the big screen with fan-favorite movies and unique extra content.

Advance tickets for the “Thrills & Chills” and BlumFest 2024 screening series featuring Blumhouse’s best offerings are now on sale through AMC Theatres’ official website. Showtimes are scheduled for 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. each Wednesday, and ticket prices may vary per location. The release also doesn’t specify if the six Blumhouse films can be seen by using the theater chain’s movie subscription service, AMC Stubs A-List, which allows members to see three movies a week, in any format, for $19.99 to $24.99 a month, depending on which market the venue is located in.
