Netflix’s One Piece Season 2 Set Tour Footage Unveils Ambitious Follow-Up

A brand-new look at the upcoming second season of Netflix’s One Piece has been unveiled via an official set tour hosted by the show’s fan-favorite villain. The series follows Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his pirate crew, the Straw Hats, on a high-seas adventure to discover the elusive One Piece, the ultimate pirate treasure. The first eight episodes of Netflix’s adaptation faithfully retold the introductory arcs of the anime and manga, but everything will get a lot crazier and bigger in the upcoming season.

Netflix has released a set tour of One Piece Season 2 hosted by Jeff Ward, who plays the iconic villain Buggy the Clown. The video teases a massive production that will continue to shoot until December, which is in line with what the upcoming season is expected to cover. The show will be headed to the Grand Line, where the Straw Hats will encounter a bevy of familiar locations for longtime fans of the anime and manga. It’s not confirmed how much the second season will adapt, but expect it to closely follow the framework of Season 2 of the anime. Check out the official Netflix One Piece Season 2 set tour below:

What Will One Piece Season 2 Be About?

The second season of Netflix’s One Piece will take the Straw Hat crew to the Grand Line, a vast ocean with treacherous waters only the best pirates can survive. The Grand Line is where they will encounter the world’s most exotic locations, islands that defy science and, more often than not, house entire nations in turmoil. One Piece Season 2 is set to feature Loguetown in the opening episode, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, Drum Island, and, possibly, the desert nation of Alabasta. Major characters from the manga are expected to make their live-action debut next season.

The opening of One Piece Season 2 is expected to show Loguetown and introduce Smoker, a super-powered marine admiral that develops a rivalry with Luffy. The main villains will be Baroque Works, a criminal organization led by one of the seven Warlords of the Sea, Crocodile. The pirate crew visiting Drum Island means Chopper will be introduced. A reindeer who ate a Devil Fruit and became part-human, Chopper is a beloved member of the Straw Hat pirates as their resident doctor. The second season is not expected to cover Alabasta, as its material could make up an entire eight-episode season for Netflix, but characters related to the story arc will appear, such as Princess Vivi, King Cobra, and Miss All Sunday.

The official cast includes Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, and Vincent Regan as Garp. Joining the second season are Callum Kerr as Smoker, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Ty Keogh as Dalton, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, the king of Alabasta. Teased in the first season, the Baroque agents will be featured this time around. The villain roll-call includes Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, and Jazzard Jaslyn as Miss Valentine. The actors playing Crocodile, Miss All Sunday, and Chopper have not been officially revealed yet.
