Netflix’s One Piece star Brashaad Mayweathermay may have hinted at a production schedule that could include filming the second and third seasons of the hit live-action adaptation consecutively. The success of One Piece live-action’s first season prompted the streaming giant to swiftly secure a renewal for the second season, and recent developments suggest that Luffy and the crew’s adventure might not stop there.

In a recent interview (via X), Mayweathermay talked about his character, Patty’s, future, saying:

We’ll see if they flash back to its because they’re filming two seasons – season two and three – back to back starting soon. So we’ll see what happens.

Mayweathermay’s statement has stirred considerable cheer from fans, although Netflix has not officially confirmed a third season. The rumors around a potential third season follows the pattern of Netflix’s strategic decisions regarding successful series. Previously, the platform granted a double-season order to another live-action adaptation, Avatar: The Last Airbender, after the successful launch of its first book. Although this may suggest a precedent, Netflix’s official announcements have only confirmed the production of One Piece’s second season.
