Jared Leto has already been announced as the lead actor in the upcoming sequel called Tron: Ares wherein he will portray the titular character of Ares. Alongside Leto is an ensemble cast of Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, and several others. As confirmed by Deadline, Gillian Anderson is the latest star to join the Tron franchise in an undisclosed role.
Known for portraying several iconic roles in notable projects throughout her years, Anderson is known for portraying the role of Dr. Jean Millburn in Netflix’s Sex Education and FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in The X-Files. Having a strong background for the character, fans are pretty excited about Anderson joining the cast of Tron: Ares.

The first Tron became an underrated cult classic while the sequel Tron: Legacy earned $400 million at the box office.
