The Crow Star Bill Skarsgård Reveals His Biggest Regret About Playing the Character

John Wick: Chapter 4 and It star Bill Skarsgård will take the lead as Eric Draven in this year’s reimagining of The Crow and has now revealed his deepest regret about his portrayal of the titular antihero. Footage and images from the movie have largely been met with negativity from fans online, and it seems that Skarsgård also has his own reservations about the project, revealing in the latest issue of Empire Magazine that his take on The Crow is far too muscular and should instead have been “really skinny.”

“I felt very strange being in great shape for Eric. I wanted him to be really skinny! He was not a person that worked out, ever. In a perfect world he would have been a lot less fit in the first half of the movie.”

Sporting tattoos all over his body, which is as ripped as any Marvel superhero, Skarsgård revealed that he had just wrapped on the dystopian action flick Boy Kills World, hence why his Eric Draven (who is supposed to be a musician with no time or interest in hitting the gym) is so strapping. Unfortunately, there was nothing Skarsgård could do about his physique in such a short space of time, and it’s something the actor clearly regrets. But, would having a skinnier physique really have convinced the many fans who have already been put off by the reimagining?

Bill Skarsgård Has Some Reservations About the Ending of The Crow

Surprisingly, this is not the first time that Skarsgård has taken issue with an element of The Crow reimagining. The actor recently revealed that he also has regrets about the movie’s ending, and would have preferred something different. As he explained to Esquire…

“I personally preferred something more definitive.”
