Watch Godzilla Ferociously Tear Apart His Most Fearsome Foes In New Video

Since his debut in 1954, Godzilla has undoubtedly remained the most popular kaiju on the planet. The iconic Toho film would go on to birth an entire franchise that has thus far brought us 38 movies, and a plethora of memorable moments that feature Godzilla doing battle against other creatures that have stood the test of time in their own right. Thanks to a new fan-made video, we have yet another bloody look at the legendary monster facing down some of his most fearsome foes, and the results are spectacular.

Created by YouTuber Vrahno, the animated video sees Godzilla facing off against King Ghidorah, whom he first did battle with in the 1964 classic Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster. Flanked by Megalon (who first appeared in 1973), Godzilla rips him to pieces before finishing off Ghidorah in brutal fashion. From there, Gigan – the alien cyborg kaiju introduced in 1972 – shows up, but Godzilla makes quick work of him by tearing him in half with his own buzzsaw, before using it to ultimately aid in his triumphant defeat of Mechagodizilla, his robotic doppelgänger. Check out the incredible carnage below.

In the accompanying text, Vrahno (whose YouTube channel includes a number of other Godzilla animations) says that they created the video as a beacon for others to aid them in dealing with life’s struggles. It was a helpful reminder when dealing with the loss of their own Grandfather, who sadly passed away shortly after work on the project began.

“This animation was meant to be simple and short. I made it so that if you ever feel overwhelmed by life’s hardships, you can give it a quick watch to let off some steam. Think that you are Godzilla and his foes are your troubles, and imagine yourself beating them with the same swiftness and efficiency as he beats down his own enemies.”

What Does the Future Hold for Godzilla?

Following the success of Legendary’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire earlier this year, and Godzilla Minus One’s historic Oscar-win for Best Visual Effects, the future looks bright for the franchise despite the departure of director Adam Wingard, who had helmed the last two films in the Monsterverse.

Earlier this year it was announced that Wingard would not be able to direct the next film due to scheduling conflicts, but the door is wide open for him to return at a later date. As such, Grant Sputore (I Am Mother, We Bury the Dead) will take over where he left off to bring fans the next entry, which is slated to be released in 2027. David Callaham, who penned the story for 2014’s Godzilla, will return to write the script.

On the Toho side of things, Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki remains adamant that his next project will not be a sequel to his hit film, with producer Minami Ichikawa seemingly backing him up on that by revealing that the famed company is in no hurry to rush another movie into production. Instead, they want to take their time and make sure Godzilla Minus One is given the proper follow-up it deserves, as fans will no doubt be expecting big things from their next entry.
