John Cohen hilariously recreates the epic Superman movie’s costume reveal! It’s been a huge day for movie fans. Earlier, James Gunn posted the very first photo of actor David Corenswet sporting the full Superman suit — a true hero shot — from the DCU’s upcoming inaugural big-screen entry. The Man of Steel sits on a chair dressed in his Kryptonian garb as he pulls on his left boot. Later in the day, Cohen, who serves as a producer on The Garfield Movie, uploaded an image of his own.

It’s the exact same photo, except Garfield (Chris Pratt) has taken Kal-El’s place in the chair. The lasagna-obsessed cat is comfortably lounging with his trusty remote control in hand, as the post’s caption reads: “Why did you shave your head, Jon?” This is a nod to Nicholas Hoult’s bald-headed baddie, Lex Luthor, in Superman.

The Garfield Movie’s Odie Actor Found Voicing the Dog Challenging

Sure, there’s a lot of excitement surrounding James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film. At the time of this writing, the Superman costume reveal on Threads has already amassed nearly 15,000 likes and 1,700 replies in the last nine hours. However, David Corenswet’s Man of Steel won’t take flight until next summer. Meanwhile, The Garfield Movie is gearing up for a box office showdown with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga this Memorial Day. Harvey Guillén co-stars alongside Chris Pratt’s Garfield in the upcoming animated adventure, and he admits to having some trouble trying to voice the famous dog. Guillén said in an exclusive interview with MovieWeb:

“I was like, ‘Wait, doesn’t Odie not speak?’
And they went, ‘We like for you to convey all these different emotions as the movie progresses,
but you can’t use words.’
And it’s such a challenge, because it’s just sound effects.
You’re just using your vocal cords with sound effects
and character and grounded the whole time.

And so that was kind of a challenge but so fun to do […]
I’m looking forward to seeing the final product. Apparently, it looks great. They’ve been showing the movie, and people are happy with that.
So, I’m excited to see what that looks like.”

Everyone’s favorite lasagne-eating feline is coming back to cinemas, and the first trailer has given a look at Chris Pratt’s Garfield peformance.

The Garfield Movie gives cartoonist Jim Davis’ creation an upgraded look, but don’t expect him to sport David Corenswet’s Superman suit any time soon. And judging from his lackadaisical look in John Cohen’s hilarious take on the Superman costume reveal, Garfield isn’t at all concerned with that “energetic” alien threat looming outside.
