    Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey
will be retconned in the sequel, as things get meta.
  • Despite negative feedback, Scott Chambers agreed to star as Christopher Robin in the sequel.
  • Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Owl, and Tigger will take revenge on Christopher Robin in a bloody and mayhem-filled sequel.

The horrific world of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is about to get meta, with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 star Scott Chambers revealing that the first movie is now just a movie within the movie. Speaking with Comicbook.com, Chambers revealed that the first Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey will be retconned in the sequel, hence the recasting of Chambers as Christopher Robin.

As Chambers explains it…

“Well, it wasn’t really my idea [to return]. So basically Rhys [Frake-Waterfield] set the sequel. So the sequel, he wanted new designs and all this kind of stuff, so the first movie ends up being a movie within the second movie. And he was like, ‘Well, I’m going to need a new Christopher Robin.’ And he’s been with me on my acting journey from the beginning, and he’s always been really nice about it and positive and all that.”

The erasure of the first Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is likely due to the emergence of ‘The Poohniverse,’ which will tie all these childhood-icon-turned-horror-monster movies together. For Chambers, there was some trepidation over joining the newly emerging franchise due to the negative response following the first movie. But, in the end, he just thought “screw it.”

“And he just said, ‘Look, I think you’d be really good at Christopher Robin.’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know,’ just because I was so scared because it’s not normal that you go into a project that has such a Marmite audience and it already has so many people wanting to be nasty. And I was just like, ‘I’m really intimidated by this.’ And then he said to me, ‘Look, please?’ And I was like, ‘Okay, screw it.’ So that’s how I got on board.”

Scott Chambers Compared Pooh, Piglet & the Gang to Some of Horror’s Greatest Monsters

You can check out the official synopsis for Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 below, which teases how the making of the first movie will connect to the events of the sequel.

“Deep within the 100-Acre-Wood, a destructive rage grows as Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Owl, and Tigger find their home and their lives endangered after Christopher Robin revealed their existence. Not wanting to live in the shadows any longer, the group decides to take the fight to the town of Ashdown, home of Christopher Robin, leaving a bloody trail of death and mayhem in their wake. Winnie and his savage friends will show everyone that they are deadlier, stronger, and smarter than anyone could ever imagine and get their revenge on Christopher Robin, once and for all.”

In an exclusive chat with MovieWeb, terrifying tigger actor Lewis Santer reveals that Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 is in the works.

Chambers has also compared the terrifying figures in Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 to some of the horror genre’s most beloved villains, including Friday the 13th slasher Jason Vorhees.

“Pooh is like our Jason, and we’ve not had a Friday the 13th film in so long. So he’s like our Jason Voorhees with our own little things sprinkled in. Tigger is for sure our Freddy Krueger. He torments his victims. You’ll see his costume is a straight jacket, and it’s because he’s constantly adrenaline-y, and he just wants to kill and all this kind of stuff. And he uses his claws quite a lot when he is doing his attacks. And then you’ve got Owl, he was inspired by Jeepers Creepers, a bit of Hellraiser with how he talks and how he explains what he’s thinking and all that kind of stuff. And then Piglet is our Leatherface, I’d say.”
