Hack for hands-free phone holder while flying is called ‘rude’

She’s in the hot seat.

Danish lifestyle content creator Ida Augusta has shared a travel hack that allows flyers to use their phones hands-free — but the tip isn’t sitting well with social media users.

“Did you know?” Augusta captioned the November TikTok with over 2.8 million views.

In the 10-second clip, Augusta boards a Norwegian Airlines flight with her friend. As they walk towards their seats, Augusta flips the headrest cover on the seat in front of her so it hangs behind the seat.

She removes her phone from its case and places it on top of the headrest cloth. She attaches her phone case from behind the fabric, so she’s able to watch her phone hands-free using someone else’s headrest cover.

The “selfish” travel hack turned many people off.

They pointed out that the fabric is supposed to protect flyers from dust, dirt, or moisture on the seat.

“Airplane hack: selfish version,” commented one disgruntled person. “Those red things belong to the seat in front. They’re not yours to take.”

“Maybe ask someone before touching their designated things,” added another.

“It’s just rude! And rather unhygienic, wouldn’t want my phone [where] someone hair, sweat etc has been,” declared someone else.

“What if they pull it back and your phone goes flying,” laughed a jokester.

The Post reached out to Augusta for comment.

A less controversial way to prop up your phone for some inflight entertainment involves a vomit bag.

And moms have been raving about the benefits of bringing painter’s tape on flights and car trips to keep kids entertained.
